- How does a faculty member enroll students for an IPE session? Faculty may use the registration materials to select available dates and enroll on the CUNY IPE Dropbox folder to access the IPE registration worksheet.
- How long is an IPE session? Virtual Sim-IPE sessions are scheduled as 90-minute sessions and include introductions, pre-briefing, brief presentation of the patient or family member perspective, a 30-minute simulated IPE meeting among IPE students participants, and 30-minute faculty debriefing section. In-person IPE learning experiences are typically 2 hours, or half-day, based on the type of event.

For spring 2021, we have six case scenarios available for virtual Sim-IPE: COVID Inpatient Case, COVID Discharge Planning Case, COVID Public/Community Health Case, Inpatient Pediatric Case, Inpatient ENT Surgical Case, and Acute Rehabilitation Substance Use Disorder Case. Other topics, such as patient safety, are addressed for in-person IPE events.

If it’s a new discipline, we can work with faculty to easily add a note on the patient summary record of the scenario to reflect new disciplines, as appropriate to the case. New cases may easily be added to address specific learning needs or role of any HHS discipline.
